What is the Zentangle Art Expo

The Zentangle Art Expo is a two day event held each summer in Madison, Wisconsin. For all of us who love creating with the Zentangle Art Method, this event gives us a time and place to connect, to grow, to be inspired and to learn. We can have joy and satisfaction in sharing our own artistic endeavors, develop old and new friendships, shop the latest tools and supplies, and tangle to our hearts content. Expo has something for everyone.

New This Year

* Expo will be two days instead of one.
* We will be located at a hotel with a block of rooms at reduced rates.
* We have invited a featured artist as a guest speaker for the event.
* All attendees will have an opportunity to sell supplies during the exhibit hall hours.
* Much much more, but some of it is still a surprise.

Don’t forget…
Registration closes at 6:30pm central time on Tuesday, July 5th.

Hotel Reservations

Sorry, the room reservation block at the event hotel is already full, but there are many great hotels in the same area.

Best of all, just for attending, you will have a chance to win dozens of FREE raffle prizes. You won’t want to miss out on all the fun!

Zentangle Art Gallery

During the Zentangle Art Expo attendees have the opportunity to view work from individuals across the region. Anybody attending the Expo may bring work to display. If you choose to do this, simply drop off your art when you arrive for registration on the day of the event. We are welcoming any items including small paper tiles or large Zentangle Inspired projects. There will even be a special table just for projects from children in our area. This is not a contest and prizes will not be issued for displayed work. You will receive a free raffle ticket for each item you bring to display. Please note, attendees will not have the right to touch anything, but they will be able to take photos of work on display. Also, CZT’s will have the opportunity to sell their work in the exhibit hall and should bring all these items with them to the CZT conference on the day before the Expo.

Age Restrictions for Expo Attendees

Youth may attend Expo and classes this year if they are at least 12 years of age and older. All youth under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times and each child requires their own expo registration.

Would you like to sponsor an attendee?

There are several youth and adults in our community who would like the opportunity to attend this event, but do not have the funds. If you would like to sponsor another individuals attendance, please contact the event coordinator, Katie Butler, at PenmarkPattern@gmail.com. 100% of sponsor contributions will be used to provide this opportunity to others.

Working at the Zentangle Art Expo

Registered attendees at the Expo can also attend classes for free by agreeing to work during specific rooms as a classroom helper. These helpers will check all the attendees in to the room, help pass out supplies, collect raffle tickets for class prizes and assist the teacher if needed. Tips for Enjoying Your Day!

Most class supplies will be provided, but you should bring your .01 Black Micron pen, a shading pencil and a tortillion blender. These three items can be ordered during registration as a part of the Class Supply Packet for only $3.00. A shoulder bag will be provided to hold all your class supplies, prizes or purchases.

Raffles and Giveaways

Our sponsors have been very generous and we will be giving away tons of great products. Dozens of door prizes will be won during the classes and raffle prizes will be drawn and distributed during the “Master Class”. Raffle prizes will only be distributed to individuals who are present at the time of the drawing so plan on attending this FREE session on Saturday at 5:15pm.

Exhibitor Hall

The exhibit hall will be open on Saturday. We have a variety of vendors who will be selling art, craft and Zentangle related products and supplies. While most of our vendors will be accepting credit cards, some of our booths will only be accepting cash or checks.

The CZT Conference and Expo are casual dress. We do not have control over the temperature of the venue. Sometimes having multiple people in a room together will make the space warm. Sometimes larger convention centers run a little cool. Wear comfortable clothes and consider layers for varying temperatures.

Water will be available at all times during the event.
A light breakfast with drinks and pastries will be served during the opening session on Friday and Saturday.
Other meals are not included with Expo registration, but options are available to purchase or are included in some classes. VIP registration includes all potential meal options. Please review the Registration Page for more particulars on what is included with registration.
